A business is not a business without regular patronage of customers; even those with seasonal or once-a-while patronage are not good enough, the goal is to accumulate a good amount of customers who would patronize your business daily or leverage your product every time.

But how you go about achieving this is essential. Startup founders or teams could put out strategies to attract even beyond the number of customers they seek, when they do, they forget consistency aligned with dynamism and several other factors that would keep your customers loving and recommending your products every day and everywhere.

Added to your current and impending strategies to retain and gain more customers, these 4 keywords should be of utmost priority:

1. Convenience

As a customer, which would you go for: a company that makes digital ordering processes, which may include tests in the cases of eye clinics and similar, totally seamless and at your convenience, get everything done online and receive your desired product at your doorstep, or another company that requires you to leave your comfort zone to purchase a product or carry out tests.

But then that’s just one aspect, convenience is not limited to this; it entails everything that connects businesses to customers.

  • How convenient is it to locate your startup physically?
  • How convenient is it to access your products?
  • How convenient is it to get feedback?
  • How convenient is it to lay complaints and receive prompt response and resolution?
  • How convenient is it to navigate through your app?
  • How convenient is it to understand the usage of your product?

2. Speed

In line with the convenience a customer gets from your business and the products offered, what’s the speed of response, purchase and others? How fast does your business app load? Irrespective of the value and price of your products, not all customers will stick with you when there’s time wastage involved.

According to Forbes, speed is the most important thing for your business profitability and this is not just in relation to the delivery of products or services, but everything mentioned above.

“These days, a lot of your clients aren’t going to view speed as a differentiator — they’ll consider it the standard. Living up to these expectations is vital for on-boarding and retaining high-value clients — even if it requires some extra blood, sweat and tears on your end.”

This is not limited to your customers but the entire team. What’s the speed in getting things done?

3: Consistency

Earlier paragraph stated that some companies put up strategies to attract customers and when they do, they forget to keep the consistency so as to retain the loyalty of their customers.

Consistency would help you build trust and this isn’t about offering same old products or services. How consistent are you in carrying your customers along even when there’s a shift in any aspect of your business?

Again, be consistent in improvements, learn, unlearn and keep learning.

4. Dynamism

Trends never stop building up in different forms and aspects. Change would always live with us even if everything else disappears.

Even individuals who say they are not used to change find themselves using something different or in a different situation at different times. For instance, everyone was used to doing things manually before technology rushed in, and now, even that static-minded individual finds himself or herself leveraging digitalization now.

Same goes for customers, trends make people find themselves in dynamic situations. So your product and services must meet their desires and needs in ever-changing situations.

Now get on with your business, do everything beyond limits to keep your green light on and shining.
