It’s a matter of when, not if, we’ll see the death of Shiba Inu, according to the majority of Finder’s Shiba Inu Price Predictions Report panel.
Thirty per cent (30%) of panelists who gave a price prediction (3/10) think SHIB will have no value by the end of the year. 60% think SHIB will be worth nothing by the end of 2025 and 70% by the end of 2030.
Head of funds at DigitalX Asset Management Matthew Harry thinks SHIB will be worth $0.0001 at the end of the year but lose all value by the end of 2025.
“This market is maturing and things like SHIB will die as capital begins to flow to quality and value rather than being scattered across the field in the hope that every player wins a prize. That’s not how things work. Hype dies, value rises,” he said.
Swinburne University of Technology director and lecturer, Dimitrios Salampasis, also thinks SHIB will have some value ($0.00001) at the end of 2025 but that “all these joke-type coins will disappear and leave space for actual innovation and cryptoassets that can serve proper use cases.”
Nearly three quarters of the panel (73%), including Finder cofounder Fred Schebesta think now is the time to sell Shiba inu.
“Being a meme coin I don’t have a lot of hope for the future of shiba. I see long term this coin going close to zero, without being able to provide proper utility,” he said.
The panel predicts Shiba Inu will be worth $0.000018750 by the end of the year on average, before dropping to $0.000002500 by 2025, and $0.000000325 by 2030.
The biggest factors that will impact SHIB’s price this year are memecoin hype (82%), inclusion on major broker platforms (41%) and the launch of ShibaSwap (12%).
Finder surveyed 36 fintech specialists from March 28 – April 11, 2022. The number of responses received varies by question – 17 panelists responded to questions about SHIB and 10 gave their price forecast.
The average forecast was calculated using the truncated mean, with the top and bottom 10% of responses removed.
