Foxit Launches PDF SDK for Desktop 11.0.0

Foxit

Foxit has rolled out a new version of its PDF Software Developer Kit (SDK) for Desktop, version 11.0.0, bringing with it advanced security, refined rendering, smarter OCR, broader platform support, and improved compliance features.

The new release is designed to help developers process, display, and secure documents better. Foxit says the update is built for enterprises that need stability, performance, and regulatory compliance, while also providing flexibility for developers working across multiple platforms.

On security upgrade, the toolkit now offers document sanitisation, document-level thread safety, and optional thread safety support for JavaScript and XFA. These changes aim to protect sensitive data while enabling multiple processes to run seamlessly, even during heavy workloads.

Another feature is the rendering enhancement, which allows developers to manage layers, annotations, bitmap transparency, and dynamic colour control. These upgrades help ensure a smoother and sharper visual experience, particularly when handling complex PDFs.

The OCR improvements are unique as well. Developers can now convert scanned text into searchable documents with more precision. Flexible control over processing modes and task monitoring ensures faster, more stable data extraction.

Foxit has also introduced better optimisation tools for managing large and scanned files. Developers can now apply compression, monitor image quality, handle non-embedded fonts, and run detailed space audits to keep documents lightweight without losing quality.

For platform adaptability, the SDK extends support for the Go programming language on Linux (x32/x64) and macOS (x64). Python developers also benefit from new compatibility with Linux ARM architecture and support for Python 3.11 and later versions.

The release also strengthens compliance support, making it easier for organisations to align with PDF/A requirements by automatically handling transparency issues during conversion.

Evan Reiss, Foxit’s VP and head of Marketing, explained the company’s approach: “With every release, our goal is to give developers more than just new features — we want to give them peace of mind and the freedom to innovate. PDF SDK 11.0.0 is about delivering smarter, more secure, and more adaptable tools so our customers can focus on creating solutions that truly drive competitive advantage and value for their organizations.”
