According to the statistics released by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Glo closed the year under review with a total of 60,290,012 subscribers. This shows an increase by 5,472,659 subscribers compared to the 54,817,353 subscriber base it reported in December 2021.

The company actively engaged its subscribers during the year. For instance, as early as February 2022 Glo Battle of the Year Nigeria was announced.

The dance competition brought to Nigeria by Globacom, started airing on Glo TV from February. Episodes of the show were made available on-demand on the streaming service to enable fans watch at any time.

The show’s innovative format features three stages – beginning with the regional auditions, battle rounds and quarter finals, followed by the live semi-finals and finals performance shows.

Viewing fans equally had the opportunity to compete for a share of the cash prize every week in a dance fans’ challenge.

Each week, the judges showcased a simple dance routine for the viewing audience to replicate and post with the hashtag #globattleoftheyear to stand a chance of winning. Weekly entries are to be sent to www.globotynigeria.com.

The telecoms operator has truly contributed to the growth of the Nigerian entertainment industry through resourceful partnerships.

Aside that, Glo Festival of Joy was also launched to make 20 lucky subscribers  landlords/landladies,  just as  24 of them won brand new cars across major cities of the nation as well as other prizes, including power generators, sewing machines and rechargeable fans, among other prizes.

Data

Glo prides itself as the ‘Grandmaster of Data’. During the year under review, the network showcased its 4G LTE prowess with unique products and value added services such as Glo Berekete, Glo Café and friendly recharge and data plans.
