Bolt, the leading ride-hailing platform in Africa, has introduced its ‘Scheduled Rides’ feature in Port Harcourt allowing users to book rides as much as 72 hours in advance.

Aside from providing riders with added convenience, this feature will give drivers ample time to prepare for such trips.

Scheduled Rides ensures that passengers will not be bothered about drivers’ availability during peak hours.

To ensure that many drivers participate in this set out, customers will pay extra charges to enjoy this feature. That translates into more take-home pay for drivers and more hands-on deck for this service.

The new feature will also be valuable for business customers; through the Ride Booker feature on the Bolt Business account, business customers can now reserve rides for work-related trips or book the same for their business guests.

Additionally, riders can select their desired category and include special instructions for drivers. This helps to customize each ride according to the passenger’s needs.

Bolt Scheduled Rides helps to prioritise punctuality, so customers should expect drivers to arrive on time as expected.

Another important benefit this new feature offers is that there will be no surge pricing. This will allow riders to book trips without worrying about a potential change in the current charge.

Speaking about the new feature, Yahaya Muhammed, the country manager for Bolt Nigeria, said:

“As a business, we value our users convenience, and as such we are happy to introduce the Scheduled Rides feature to another city like Port Harcourt, marking yet another milestone in our commitment to enhancing the overall passenger experience. This reflects our dedication to providing our users with maximum convenience and reliability”.

Scheduled Rides have already been introduced by Bolt in Lagos and Abuja. Bolt remains committed to continuously seeking ways to elevate the overall user experience on its app, by innovating and utilising strategic investments, to deliver the most affordable, convenient and enjoyable experience to all users.

How Scheduled Rides Work:

  1. Open the Bolt app and enter your destination as usual.
  2. Select “Schedule Ride” and choose your desired pickup date and time.
  3. Confirm your booking, and you’re all set! Rest assured, your ride will arrive at your doorstep promptly.
