Remi Afon, the pioneer and immediate past President of Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria (CSEAN) has been honoured by the Association as the Cybersecurity ‘Trailblazer of the Year 2022’.

The honour was in recognition of Mr. Afon’s role in creating awareness about cybersecurity across Nigeria.

Speaking while presenting the award plaque to Remi Afon at the Cybersecurity Merit Awards, which was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja, Mr. Ade Shoyinka, the incumbent President of CSEAN, said the recognition to Mr. Afon was borne out of the Association’s desire to recognize the recipient’s effort to make the Association what it is today.

“We are recognizing Mr. Remi Afon as ‘Trailblazer of the Year 2022’ for the role he played in creating awareness about cybersecurity in Nigeria and indeed Africa,” he announced.

The President attributed many successes recorded by the association over the years to Remi Afon, saying he is the architect of the annual Cybersecure conference, the annual cybersecurity predictions and many other engagements that has promoted CSEAN and ultimately, help protect the Nigeria’s cyberspace.

Commenting, a visibly surprised Remi Afon dedicated the recognition to all members of the CSEAN, saying the many achievements of the association since its formation are as a result of the ideas and hardwork of the team, whom he described as goal-getters.
