Emeka Okoye’s journey into the world of technology began with a profound passion for science. His insatiable curiosity led him to observe and question the world around him, and he quickly realized the potential of harnessing knowledge and data to create opportunities for societal advancement. The Emergence of a Tech Visionary

With the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Emeka saw a powerful tool for transforming observations, data, and problem-solving into innovative solutions for organizations and the broader society.   1. Co-Founder of Nigeria’s Earliest Startup (ngex.com, 1996): Emeka’s tech journey began early with the co-founding of Nigeria’s earliest startup. This venture laid the groundwork for his future contributions to the tech ecosystem.
  2. Nigeria’s First Internet Banking (1997): As early as 1997, Emeka was at the forefront of digital finance in Africa, leading the creation of Nigeria’s first internet banking platform.
  3. Project Lead for Nigeria’s First E-commerce Platform (xeroxnigeria.com, 2000): Emeka continued to shape the digital landscape in Nigeria by spearheading the development of the country’s first e-commerce platform.
  4. Revoda – Africa’s First Mobile App for Crowdsourcing Election Data (2011): Emeka recognized the power of mobile technology to democratize data collection. With Revoda, he paved the way for transparent and accessible election data in Africa.
  5. Architect of the First Knowledge Graph on African Films (Mokolo, 2016): Emeka’s work extended to cultural preservation and knowledge representation, exemplified by the creation of the first Knowledge Graph dedicated to African films.
  6. Knowledge Graphs for Social Impact: Emeka’s expertise in Knowledge Graphs was harnessed for projects related to maternal health, public sector corruption in Ghana, and legal data in Nigeria, all with the goal of improving African societies.

Emeka Okoye’s impact on the tech landscape has not gone unnoticed. He was listed among the “20 Most Influential Technology People in Africa” by IT News Africa in 2013 and recognized as one of the “Top Global 20 Mobile Commerce, Payments, Banking, and Money Influencers in Social Media” in 2012.
