MTN takes 'G MAD' activation to Ibadan, Oyo State

On Saturday, March 8, 2025, MTN Nigeria brought its Go MAD (Make a Difference) campaign to Ibadan, inspiring people to take action in their communities.

The event, held at Cloud 7 Lounge, featured inspiring success stories, immersive virtual reality experiences, high-energy DJ sets and dance performances, and interactive games, reinforcing MTN’s commitment to digital empowerment and positive impact.

Speaking at the event, Adebajo Onofua, regional manager, Customer Operations, MTN Nigeria, highlighted that the campaign is a celebration of Nigerians’ creativity and resilience amidst tough times in the country.

“Go MAD with MTN Data is about empowering people to do more, own their world, and make a difference. It’s a celebration of people who put the extra in the ordinary,” Onofua said.

One of the most moving moments of the event was the screening of an inspirational video featuring 15-year-old autistic painter, Kanyeyachukwu.

A true embodiment of the Go MAD message, Kanye shared his journey of breaking barriers and his bold mission to set a Guinness World Record for the largest canvas painting.

With his artwork exhibited at UNICEF HQ, the World Bank, and other global platforms, his story challenged attendees not just to hear the Go MAD message but to live it.

Guests were also invited to share their Go MAD stories; real-life ways they are making an impact using MTN Data.

Local influencer couple, Endurance and Anna Peters, known as ‘Mr. & Mrs. Peters’, captivated the audience with their digital love story.

“We met on Facebook,” Endurance shared. “She kept asking for data, and I decided to make a difference by marrying this girl. Let me benefit from this data.” Anna added that MTN Data has been crucial to growing her thrift business, helping her connect with customers and promote her brand.

Timothy, a local music producer, shared how MTN has helped him expand his reach and impact people. “I teach music production and mixing online. With MTN Data, I connect with people, in Ibadan and beyond Nigeria.”

Closing off the event, Oyeronke George, Manager, Go To Market, called guests to action, asking them to take bold steps and make a difference even in the smallest spaces.

“Mastery isn’t enough. Don’t just stay where you are. Go make a difference. Stand out in your community and make an impact. With MTN data, the opportunities are limitless.”

The Go MAD experience has been activated in Abuja, Enugu, and Calabar. Ibadan was another step in MTN’s mission to empower everyday changemakers.

The movement is growing, with more locations to come. With this campaign, MTN is showing that even the smallest actions can spark meaningful and lasting change.
